FAQ's
What happens during a Kinesiology session?
Your session will begin with a confidential discussion about your health history, lifestyle, current concerns & goals. This information helps provide a clearer understanding of your individual needs & guides the focus of the session.
You will then be invited to lie comfortably on a massage table, fully clothed. Before we begin, I will explain the muscle monitoring process & demonstrate how it works, so you know what to expect & feel at ease throughout the session.
Using gentle muscle monitoring as a form of biofeedback, I will ask the body a series of questions & note areas of stress , imbalance or energetic disruption. This process helps uncover underlying factors.
Once the imbalances have been identified, appropriate balancing techniques & supportive recommendations may be used to help restore harmony within the mind, body & soul
How many sessions will I need ?
The number of Kinesiology sessions you may require varies from person to person & depends on your individual goals, concerns & what you'd like to gain from the process.
Some clients choose to attend monthly sessions as apart of their ongoing wellness routine, helping them maintain balance & manage the stresses of everyday life. This approach is popular with both adults & children
Others prefer to book in sessions as needed or attend 2 - 4 times per year for general support & maintenance. Some people may seek Kinesiology to work on a specific issue & may benefit from a series of sessions over a shorter period of time.
There is no set schedule, & the frequency of sessions is always a personal choice. Together we can discuss your goals & determine an approach that best supports your needs & wellbeing.
What happens during a Child Kinesiology session ?
The way a Kinesiology session is conducted for a child depends largely on their age & stage of development.
For children 4 yrs & under, I often recommend using a surrogate method. This means the session may be carried out using the child's hair or through their Mother or primary caregiver. This approach allows me to access the information needed while ensuring the child remains comfortable & relaxed.
For children 5 yrs & older, I generally find they are able to participate more directly in the session. They can usually maintain the positions required for muscle monitoring & are able to work with me either on the treatment table or within the Kinesiology room.
Every child is unique, & sessions are always adapted to suit their individual needs, comfort level & developmental stage.
